5 Essential Things
to Check Before
Buying a Cycling
Jersey
Buying a cycling jersey is not as simple as picking your favourite colour. The wrong jersey can leave you overheated, uncomfortable, or slowing down mid-ride.
At Aidan Global, we have built jerseys for amateur cyclists, competitive racers, and everything in between — shipping worldwide to India, USA, UK, Europe, Australia and beyond. Here is exactly what to look for before you buy.
The Fit — Race,
Club, Air and Winter
Fit is the single most important factor in a cycling jersey. Get it wrong and nothing else matters.
Race Fit is tight and aerodynamic — designed to reduce drag at high speeds. Ideal for competitive cyclists and triathletes riding in an aggressive forward-leaning position.
Club Fit is semi-fitted — relaxed enough for comfort on long rides, snug enough to avoid wind resistance. Perfect for weekend riders, sportives, and group rides.
Air Fit is ultra-lightweight and slightly looser, designed for hot weather rides where airflow matters most.
If you are unsure, go Club Fit. It works for 80% of riders in most conditions.
Fabric — Breathability
and Moisture Control
Your jersey fabric determines how you feel after hour two of a ride. Look for polyester or nylon blends — lightweight, durable, and quick-drying.
Moisture-wicking properties pull sweat away from your skin. Mesh panels under the arms and on the back provide extra ventilation. UPF protection is essential for long outdoor rides.
Avoid cotton entirely. It absorbs sweat, gets heavy, and causes chafing. All Aidan Global jerseys use premium quick-dry, breathable fabric engineered for cycling performance.
Look for 80–100% polyester or nylon. Any higher cotton content is a red flag for performance riding.

Zipper Length
Full vs Half
A full-length zip gives you complete control over ventilation — easy to open on climbs, easy to close on descents when it gets cold.
Half zip suits cooler weather or short rides. For performance riding, always choose full-length zip.
Rear Pockets
How Many and Where
A good cycling jersey has three rear pockets minimum. Some add a fourth zippered pocket for your phone, cards, or keys.
Pockets must sit low on the back so they do not dig in when bent over the handlebars. Deep, elasticated pockets only.
Stitching and
Seam Placement
This is what separates a good jersey from a great one. Flatlock stitching lies flat against the skin — no raised seams to rub against you over 50+ kilometres.
Check seams on the shoulders (minimal), underarms (flatlock essential), and side panels (should flex with your movement). Raised stitching causes chafing after the first hour.
At Aidan Global, every jersey is designed with ergonomic seam placement and flatlock stitching for all-day comfort — whether you are riding in Kerala, crossing the Alps, or racing in California.
Turn the jersey inside out. Run your finger along the seams. If you feel a ridge, you will feel it after 40km.

buying checklist

Polyester or nylon fabric
No cotton. Check for moisture-wicking and UPF properties.
Full-length zipper
Essential for ventilation control on every climb and descent.
Three rear pockets minimum
